Diageo
Car Park Access Control
Diageo in Dublin is one of Ireland's largest and most prestigious commercial developments comprising of production, storage and administration offices.
The Challenge
Diageos' Guinness site presented a number of traffic throughput requirements including the control of car parks Electro Automation Ltd had already provided access control, Sliding Gate, Revolving door solutions in relation to lifts, as well as the main entrances, secondary entrances to floors, offices and other secure areas including providing the revolving door to the Guinness Storehouse which is one of the busiest tourist attractions in Ireland.
The system would also have to be reliable enough to cope with large numbers of administration and production vehicles passing through. In particular the system needed to permit a rapid throughput of 'rush-hour' traffic while maintaining a high level of security and control.
The Solution
Already having various access control systems in place which had their budgetary requirements. Diageo wanted a reliable, simplified system that was easy to control and could handle the heavy daily volume of traffic in and out of their premises.
At strategic control points Electro Automation Ltd placed specific FAAC
and Unibar barriers with push button operation to allow local control in
a simplified manner which freed up other site attendants to achieve more
in their roles. There is a FAAC 640 Controller on St James gate and 8 Faac
and Unibar barriers.
